Colonial Kranen – a hidden gem!

Inner in Solheimsviken, only 15 min walk from Bergen city center. A magnificent view of the fjord – nicely hit by the city mountains. With glass walls on all sides, this is a magical place to sit. Here you can spend a day in ruined days and when the sun is shining, the Colonialen Kranen has a large and cozy outdoor dining area right on the seafront. If you wish to come by boat then it is nice to park at the pier.

The crane was completed in 2004, and is a symbol of the activity previously taken in Solheimsviken. Today, the area has gained a new expression with modern commercial buildings and housing.

Classic but modern low-threshold food, seasonal based on local produce. Our guests will eat together and the food will be served in pots and dishes on the table where the guests supply themselves – as you do around the kitchen table at home.

The menu changes frequently and consists of a varied selection of dishes where you can compose your own meal. For those who think it’s hard to choose, the kitchen can put together a selection of today’s recommended dishes.

FUNCTIONS

In addition to the first floor room, the Crane has a great meeting room in the crane house above. This will be rented out for daytime meetings and used for courses such as Colonialen Wine School in the evening. The room has capacity for 25 guests around a larger board.
